ANDY SUN, PH.D. was appointed as an attending Physician at the National Taiwan University Hospital in 1989 and in 1992 he received his Ph.D. Degree in Immunology from the College of Medicine, National Taiwan University. He then developed professional links with mainland China, as a Visiting Professor at Tianjin Medical University and Hubei Traditional Chinese Medical University from 1999 to the present.
Dr. Sun is the author of many articles published in International Medical Journals. In his professional career, Andy Sun was the first doctor who established a special clinic for patients with oral mucosal diseases in Taiwan. His research on the etiology and immunological mechanisms of recurrent aphthous ulcerations, Behcet’s disease, and oral lichen planus have been published and recognized as a great discovery in the related fields by the International Medical Journals for at least 25 years.
Dr. Sun has been working on the integration of Chinese and Western Medicine for more than 12 years. He has studied the imunomodulating, apoptosis-inducing and tumor cell-killing effects of Chinese Medicinal Herbs on a variety of cancer cell lines. Most of these findings have been published in International Medical Journals.
In the years 2000 to 2005, Andy Sun was recognized as one of the most famous doctors in Asia by the Central New Agency of Republic of China and was also selected as one of the most famous doctors by similar establishments in the United States and United Kingdom. He was also selected as one of the 2000 Outstanding Intellectuals of the 20th and 21st Centuries and one of the 2000 Outstanding Scholars and Scientists of Achievement in the field of Immunology and Medicine by International Biographical centre in Cambridge, England.
